There is a great sense of community here in Blockhouse Bay. This is due to the variety of community based things there are on offer within a small distance from one another.
The Community Centre has a fabulous program of activities on offer like fitness, dancing and even pottery classes. They offer rooms that can be hired for meetings or events. The largest room can cater for up to 260 people. The Historic Armanasco House Building is also available for hire and is open on Tuesdays to the public to come in and learn a bit of history.
Blockhouse Bay has three Church’s which all run services, activities for children and other events. The Public Library also runs activities for children and events in the school holidays.
When it comes to childcare and education, Blockhouse Bay has a Playcentre, a Kindergarten, Primary Schools, an Intermediate, a High School and an International College. There is also a Plunket Clinic for pre-school health checks.
